A Safer
Valley Center
Together

The Greater Valley Center Fire Safe Council is described in county planning documents as an “operating unit of the California and San Diego County Fire Safe Councils”. We are a volunteer-driven organization dedicated to educating our community, supporting fuel-reduction efforts, and working with local and regional partners to make our city safer, stronger, and prepared for wildfire.

We Need Your Help

Valley Center Fire Department Foundation needs your support in order to make that final push in creating Station No 3. in order to make a defensible community.

Wildfire Planning

We develop and maintain community wildfire planning efforts, including authoring the original 2008n Community Wildfire protection Plan (CWPP) and it’s 2018 update.

Fuel Reduction

In cooperation with the local Fire Marshal, we target fuel-reduction work along major evacuation corridors – Lilac, Old Castle, and Cole Grade Roads

Community Education

We also sponsor lectures and presentations on home hardening, fire safety, chaparral ecology, and wildfire preparedness – typically presented at local schools and for the general public
