Our commitment

The Greater Valley Center Fire Safe Council is committed to making our website usable by everyone, including people with disabilities. Wildfire preparedness information should be available to every resident of our community.

Accessibility standard

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with a wide range of disabilities.

What we do

  • Provide text descriptions (alt text) for meaningful images
  • Use color combinations with sufficient contrast
  • Support keyboard navigation with visible focus indicators
  • Use clear headings and page structure for screen readers
  • Label form fields clearly
  • Respect reduced-motion settings on your device
  • Design pages to work on phones, tablets, and computers

Known limitations

Some content may not yet be fully accessible. This includes older PDF documents, embedded videos from YouTube, and content on partner and third-party websites that we link to but do not control. We are working to improve these areas and can provide information in another format on request.

Need information in another format?

If you have trouble accessing any content on this site, contact us and we will provide the information in a format that works for you, such as plain text, large print, or by phone or email.

Feedback

We welcome your feedback. If you find an accessibility barrier on our site, please let us know. Include the page address and a description of the problem, and we will do our best to respond within five business days.
